Public transport routes to change during Cycling Marathon

In Sunday, June 2, during Riga Cycling Marathon, there will be changes in public transport routes, but on some routes public transport may be late.

Changes will be made on June 2, from 10.00 till 16.00 approximately. The traffic on public transport routes passing by the marathon route may be suspended or hindered for a short while, traffic on some routes can be also delayed. Some public transport routes may be changed during the event. Residents of Valdlauči and Bišumuiža should take into account that bus route No. 23 will not be available during the Cycling Marathon.

During the above period, passengers who have bought and are using one-month tickets for the changed trolleybus and bus routes will be allowed to use these tickets on other bus, trolleybus and tram routes to reach the necessary destinations, without registering their trips.

Buses on route No. 10 will run from the city centre by the route to AkmensBridge, then across AkmensBridge, in Uzvaras Boulevard, Valguma Street, Akmeņu Street, Mūkusalas Street and further by the route. On the way to the city centre buses will run by the route to K. Ulmaņa gatve, then in K. Ulmaņa gatve to the round-about place without reaching Mūkusalas rotation circle, then in K. Ulmaņa gatve to the ascent to Bauskas Street, then in Bauskas Street, Jelgavas Street, Akmeņu Street, Valguma Street, Uzvaras boulevard, across Akmens Bridge and further by the route.

Buses on route No. 12 will run by the route to Turgeņeva Street, then in Turgeņeva Street, F.Sadovņikova Street, Ludzas Street, Lauvas Street, Lomonosova Street, Lubānas Street, Salaspils Street, Rušonu Street, Prūšu Street, Maskavas Street, across DienviduBridge and further by the route.

Buses on route No. 23 will run from the city centre by the route to AkmensBridge, then across AkmensBridge, in Uzvaras Boulevard, in Valguma Street, Akmeņu Street, Mūkusalas Street and further by the route to Ziepniekkalna Street, then in Ziepniekkalna Street, motor road A7 to Baložu Street and further by the route. On the way back to the city centre the buses will run by the route to motor road A7, then in motor road A7, Ziepniekkalna Street, Bauskas Street, then further by the route to Buru Street, then in Jelgavas Street, Akmeņu Street, Valguma Street, Uzvaras Boulevard, Akmens Bridge and further by the route. During the Cycling Marathon bus No. 23 will not be available in Valdlauči and Bišumuiža.

Buses on route No. 26 will run from the city centre to AkmensBridge, then across AkmensBridge, in Uzvaras Boulevard, Valguma Street, Akmeņu Street, Mūkusalas Street and further by the route. On the way back to the city centre, the buses will run by the route to Buru Street, then in Jelgavas Street, Akmeņu Street, Valguma Street, Uzvaras Boulevard, across AkmensBridge and further by the route.

Buses on routes No. 13, 30, 37, 41 and 53 will run from Pārdaugava to the city centre across VanšuBridge, without going to Ķīpsala. Stop „Press house” will be transferred to the main line of the bridge.

Trolleybuses on routes No. 5, 12 and 25 will run from Pārdaugava to Daugava stadium, Šmerlis and Brīvības Street across VanšuBridge, missing Ķīpsala. Stop „Press house” will be transferred to the main line of the bridge. There will be no changes in the direction of Pārdaugava.

Trolleybuses on route No. 19 and 24  will run straight across Salu Bridge (like bus No. 40), missing stops „Mūkusalas rotation circle” on the way to Ziepniekkalns and stops „Road administration” and „Salu Bridge” on the way to the city centre.

Trolleybuses on route No. 27 will run from Ābolu Street to Railway Terminal Square by the route to stop „Bieķensalas Street”, then in Jelgavas Street, Vienības gatve, Akmeņu Street, Valguma Street, Uzvaras Boulverad and across Akmens bridge. On the way back from Railway Terminal Square to Ābolu Street the trolleybuses will run across AkmensBridge, then in Valguma Street, Akmeņu Street, Mūkusalas Street and further by the route.

Minibuses on routes No. 236, 237 and 241 will run from Pārdaugava to the city centre straight across VanšuBridge. Stop „Press house” will be closed.

Minibuses on route No. 276 will run from Dārziņi by the route to the Central railway terminal and back. A part of the route from Ķīpsala to the Central railway terminal will be closed.
